Farmersville Rd.

This 4,000 square foot farmhouse on over 200 acres of farmland may have the characteristics of a old home with old world charm, but in actuality, it is only a decade old.  Lots of planning went into making this compact, walk-through pantry and this large his/hers walk-in master closet a dream come true.  Custom details such as beaded inset stained alder wood cabinetry was carefully designed and finished to flow with the home's existing cabinetry.  The mix of rich wood tones combined with luxurious marble, rustic metals, deep brown tones, patterned mosaic tiles are eye-catching and provide a beautiful transition through the home's main thoroughfare. Creative custom storage solutions were provided to serve this busy couple with 3 children.  Pullout mesh vegetable bins were constructed to hold freshly-picked produce, a paneled crisper drawer was added, and wire mesh screened cabinet doors add a rustic quality while concealing items.

The master closet received a total makeover with all new cabinetry chock full of compartments and special touches that provide organization completely customized to the couple's needs. A custom-made light fixture and a pulldown clothes bar are just a couple of the features that make this closet truly special.

Built in 1990, this kitchen had good bones, but just needed some updating and a few new organizational add-on's to make it more functional.  The Corian countertops were replaced with a gorgeous honed quartzite which also served as a full height backsplash.  Dated patterned glass cabinet doors were replaced with gold toned wire mesh screens, and new honey bronze hardware added an elegant feel.  The refrigerator wall became a striking focal point with new built-in's and gold accents on top of a rich, off-black paint color.

This project involved the renovation of a master bathroom, a laundry room to walk-in pantry conversion and a kitchen facelift.  The master bathroom received a new layout with a custom double vanity and recessed medicine cabinets, a new undermount tub, a steam shower with body sprays, a linen cabinet with a laundry hamper, and the addition of a chute for a laundry dumbwaiter.  The dumbwaiter addition provided a practical and convenient solution for moving laundry between the home's levels.    Relocating the washer and dryer to the basement freed up space off the kitchen for a walk-in pantry, which has a sink and functions as a baking area.  The kitchen received new glass cabinets extending to the ceiling, a new range and custom range hood, new cabinet doors and drawer fronts, a painted cabinet finish, a new tile backsplash and new wall paint.

WHOLE HOUSE RENOVATION AND ADDITION 
Built in the 1950s, this Mid Century Modern home was perfect for a couple who were downsizing and needed a one-story floor plan.  It had clean lines and lots of natural light, but was not conducive to the way we live today.  Many of the rooms were small, closed off and the spaces did not have good flow. The renovation of this house involved the expansion of the kitchen from a galley to a large open kitchen with an island and a walk-in pantry, a reconfigured laundry room with a workspace, a guest bathroom, a powder room, a walk-in master closet and a master bath.  Square footage was taken from the carport for the addition of a side entrance hallway and an office.  Every room in the home received new finishes and fixtures tailored to the client's style and budget.

Built in the 1970's, this kitchen was still in it’s original form and needed updating. An existing peninsula divided the kitchen and breakfast areas, and proved to be an inefficient layout for the homeowners. A new plan was created to open up the space by removing the peninsula and wall, which also allowed more natural light to flow into the space. Stainless steel appliances, chrome fixtures, new custom cabinetry, a beverage station, built-in desk, custom bench seat, custom drapery treatments and new hardwood flooring are just a few of it’s many desirable features

Created new functional floor plan with double vanity, freestanding soaker tub and frameless glass shower. Modernized bathroom by replacing all fixtures and finishes, and installed radiant heat flooring.

Downtown Decatur Master Bath

This small enclosed kitchen was expanded and renovated in this 1920's home. Space was recouped from an unused butler’s pantry to create a large functional kitchen with open views to the dining and living areas. A portion of the rear existing porch and deck was taken for the addition of a walk-in pantry and mud/laundry room off the kitchen. Special features include a professional 48" dual-fuel range in the island, built-in double ovens and a custom island outfitted with built-in dog bowls.  The house was also expanded to include a rear addition for a master bath.

Oakhurst Kitchen

Renovation of a kitchen in a 1920's home. The existing kitchen had plenty of square footage, but with multiple doors and poor fixture placement, it was cramped and hard to function in. For this family of five, the space was reconfigured with an “L” configuration, an island with eat-in-counter, and refrigerator and microwave/beverage station alcoves. An efficient work triangle was created and storage was maximized. The kitchen was given a new and updated look with solid Maple wood cabinets, granite countertops, a ceramic tile backsplash, hardwood flooring, stainless steel appliances and recessed/modern pendant light fixtures. Windows in the kitchen and sunroom were replaced with energy-efficient ones, and more natural light was added by opening up walls in the sunroom, dining and living room.

Winnona Park Master Bath Addition

Transformation of an outdated galley kitchen into a large open kitchen that was reconfigured with multiple work zones, an eat-in area and access to a new laundry area and half bath. Wasted space was reclaimed for built-in banquet seating and a double-sided island. Appliances and fixtures were conveniently placed to allow this space to function properly for a cook and a baker. Doorways to the dining room and family room were widened to create a more open feel and allow for more natural light. We updated the look with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, a farmhouse sink, new custom cabinetry, recessed and pendant lighting. The new porcelain planked floor tile was a practical and durable choice for this kitchen.
This 1940's home did not have a master bath, and the homeowners were forced to use a cramped bath off the kitchen on the lower level.  This project involved the creation of a master suite by the addition of a spacious 2nd story master bath and walk-in closet.  The master bath has the cottage charm that the homeowner's desired with a freestanding claw foot tub, a separate shower with a bench, a double furniture vanity, beadboard wainscot paneling and a slate floor.
